Tree Bowl
A fossilised tree bowl, carved from a single section of petrified wood. The inside has been polished to reveal rich bands of colour while the outer edge has been left raw, showing the original texture of the ancient timber.
Once living timber, the wood has slowly mineralised underground as organic material was replaced by silica and other minerals, preserving the grain while turning it to stone. Resulting in the remarkable appearance, a cross between the natural timer and a gemstone. Totally unique, shaped by the conditions in which it was buried.
Hobo loves because: naturally so very sculptural and the preservation process is utterly fascinating. The perfect spot to put your keys when you come in the door.
