A large-scale lustre jug with a pink lustre wash over a black transfer.
Marked 'J M F' above 'No. 43" the makers mark of John Mayer, Foley, Staffordshire Potteries who traded from 1833 to 1841. This jug dates from around 1835. No. 43 is a pattern number.
