PH 3 1/2
Produced in Denmark circa 1930 by Poul Henningsen. Upper screen of a wonderful painted tangerine/ yellow and lower screens of frosted glass. Stamped 'Patented.'
Hobo loves because: everything about this lamp is simply perfect, from the colour of the top screen to the browned brass stem.
Height: 45cm
Louis Poulsen, the great Danish lighting house founded in 1874, and Poul Henningsen, the visionary designer behind the “PH” lights, changed how the world thinks about light. In 1924 Henningsen brought his radical idea of layered shades to Poulsen; by 1925 his “three-shade” lamp design had already won a gold medal at the Paris International Exhibition
Henningsen’s guiding idea was simple but revolutionary: never shine a bare bulb into your eyes. Instead, use concentric, carefully shaped shades to diffuse and reflect light - soft, even, glare-free illumination that flatters both people and space. The collaboration between Poulsen and Henningsen laid the foundation for Scandinavian modern lighting.
All of our lighting is rewired and PAT tested to UK standard.
